With supercar startups coming out of the woodwork, it takes a lot to get our attention. Danish company Zenvo Automotive has done just that with the announcement of its newest project, the ST1. With a mid-mounted turbocharged and supercharged 7.0-liter V8 engine (perhaps from Chevrolet?), the ST1 puts out an incredible 1,104 horsepower and funnels it through a six-speed manual gearbox. Attention officially granted.
The project was started back in 2004, and the first cars are — optimistically — planned for delivery in 2009. The first performance tests were completed in October and the rear-wheel-drive ST1 is claimed to have reached 62 mph in what we imagine was a traction-limited 3.2 seconds. The run to 120 was accomplished in just under nine seconds and the top speed is reported to be an electronically limited 233 mph. So a Veyron/Ultimate Aero/GT9/CCX-killer this is not.
The Zenvo ST1 certainly looks unique, with a very geometric appearance, including boomerang-shaped vents adorning the grille, hood and sides. Nothing quite like it is currently rolling on the roads and with just 15 scheduled for production, prospective owners can count on never seeing one in the Whole Foods parking lot. Thanks for the tip, Andy!

Two new F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin videos have come to surface. The first is an animated comic book trailer (shown above) that gets very bloody, reminding people why they should fear Alma. The second is part 2 of the Unsung Heroes amateur video taking a look at the Information Technology department that keeps developers running, and kind of demonstrates why they’re unsung. Unfortunately, there’s no musical number like the first one.

Realistically, Motor Trend had two choices when it came time to pick its Truck of the Year for 2009. On one hand, Ford’s redesigned F-150 has been the best seller in America for, well… decades, and offers tireless capabilities and hundreds of possible configurations at an affordable price. It’s never been better. On the other hand, the latest Dodge Ram, also redesigned for 2009, features that truck’s characteristically macho styling turned up to 11 and gets the segment’s first-ever set of coil-overs propping up the rear axle. It too has never been better.
The other two contenders were the Suzuki Equator, which is really nothing more than a rebadged Nissan Frontier (not that it’s a bad truck, mind you) and the HUMMER H3T, which is a perfectly fine vehicle that’s cursed with a currently-hated nameplate and a reputation for a major thirst for fuel. As you can tell from the headline, the Blue Oval’s truck emerged the winner after a process that Motor Trend describes as the closest vote in history.

Click above for a high-res gallery of the SSC Ultimate Aero
Not content to rest on its laurels after taking the Guinness-verified top speed world record, SSC has revamped the Ultimate Aero for 2009 to make it more powerful, more aerodynamic, and even faster. We thought the 2008 model had plenty of horsepower with 1183 ponies underneath the hood, but SSC has increased that number to 1287 courtesy of a new one-piece billet aluminum engine block that improves structural integrity and oiling capabilities. Helping to push all that horsepower through the air is a redesigned front fascia with a new center grille opening, as well as carbon fiber louvers that feed 20% more air to the radiators. The aerodynamic changes, combined with the increased power, yield an estimated 270 mph top speed. SSC has also given the interior a thorough refresh, adding carbon fiber trim to the dash, air vents, door sills, and around the gauge cluster. A new center console features an Azentek PC Infotainment system that can process the car’s onboard diagnostic system. There’s no word on whether they’ll attempt to best their top speed record achieved earlier this year, but we’re sure SSC would like to further distance themselves from the Bugatti Veyron or the 9ff GT9. More details on the 2009 SSC Ultimate Aero can be found in the press release after the jump.

The Daily Telegraph has thrown two pence in with its own “best of” video game round up, naming its top 50 games of 2008. Like X-Play before it, the conservative UK newspaper named Lionhead’s Fable 2 as the best game to come along in the last 12 months, romancing the crown out from under near-winners, Fallout 3 and LittleBigPlanet.
Other games sitting atop the heap included Rock Band 2, Gears of War 2, Spore, Grand Theft Auto IV and No More Heroes, with Left 4 Dead and Professor Layton rounding the publication’s top ten. Check out the rather comprehensive list and let us know if your favorites made the cut.

Fujitsu first let out word of its Stylistic ST6012 tablet PC back in September, and we also caught sight of it at the FCC a little while back, but the company has only just now actually gotten the device out the door. Despite the slight delay, however, there doesn’t seem to be any changes to the tablet itself, with it still packing a 12-inch WXGA display, a low-voltage Core 2 Duo SU9400 processor, and 1GB of RAM and an 80GB hard drive in its standard configuration. Those looking to max things out can also take advantage of a number of optional upgrades, including an SSD drive, integrated UWB, some Intel turbo memory, a built-in camera, a 9-cell battery, and no less than three different docks. While all those options can easily push things past the $4,000 mark (really), those less demanding should be able to get by just fine with the base $1,999 model.
