You don’t usually equate CES with big time Energizer introductions, but this year is going to be different. While our fingers are still crossed that a 50-foot drum-toting bunny is seen storming around in the Vegas heat, we do know that said outfit will be bringing along its minty fresh Zinc Air Prismatic batteries, not to mention the newly unveiled Rechargeable Solar Charger. The above pictured device will boast a USB port to power an assortment of devices, and it can also be charged from an AC outlet if you just can’t seem to locate the sun. Better still, its weatherproof nature should make it suitable for argonauts, and it’ll only run $49.99 with a pair of rechargeable cells when it lands next summer.

The fourth and final of Microsoft’s weekly Xbox Live Marketplace holiday deals is none other than the original Halo: Combat Evolved. Major Nelson has announced that the franchise-launching, system-selling FPS will be available for 600 ($7.50) starting tomorrow, Tuesday, December 23 for Xbox Live Gold members. Its usual going price is 1200 ($15).
When the history of video games eventually becomes mainstream college curriculum, Halo will the “required playing” equivalent of War and Peace. You can get ahead of the curve – or make sure you’re as hip as those young whippersnappers – for one week only. Last week’s deal, Bomberman Live, is available until midnight tonight at the half-price sum of 600 ($7.50).

The ad above seems to be implying that we’ll all soon be able to put our frequent flyer miles toward one of Virgin Galactic‘s super-expensive space tourist flights. Of course, it’s pretty vague, and we’re not going to get overly excited about it since we’ve barely ever saved up enough miles to get to Pittsburgh, but hey — anything that encourages us to believe we can achieve goals previously reserved for Moby and Sigourney Weaver is fine with us.
[Thanks, Brian]

One of the most significant criticisms leveled at Wii’s superb and stylistic No More Heroes was that its “open world” wasn’t, well, very open. That’s set to change for the sequel, says creator Goichi “Suda51” Suda.
In an interview on GameSetWatch, Suda51 was asked about his long-time desire to build a true open-world game. He acknowledged that No More Heroes was a step towards realizing his goal, but, as for the sequel, he said to “expect big changes for No More Heroes 2‘s open world.” And what of series star, Travis Touchdown, now that there are truly no more heroes in the game’s universe? “Actually, there are still some heroes left,” he teased.

Update: It seems some internet imps stole about thirty seconds of audio from the show starting at 52:06. We’ve replaced the missing audio and re-uploaded both the MP3 and AAC versions. Refresh your RSS reader (iTunes, etc.) or manually download the new versions if you just have to know what’s missing. (You kind of do.)
This week on the Xbox 360 Fancast, we’ve got a special holiday gift just for you. Rather than plow through the same old, tired formula we’ve been peddling for nearly two years now, we’ve decided to (slightly) mix things up with a special guest! This week we have none other than John Davison, co-host of the 1UP Yours podcast and co-founder of What They Like, the organization responsible for What They Play. Together we discuss the creation of What They Play as well as the direction of the game industry itself. And then, to cap it all off, we discuss a few Game of the Year candidates. Oh, and Alexander’s back. Give it a listen.

Click above for a high-res gallery of the edo competition Murcielago LP710 Audigier Edition
What happens when you combine a flamboyant Italian supercar with celebrity fashion designer Christian Audigier? You get… this. German tuner edo competition has teamed up with the clothing icon for a limited run of Murcielagos that feature custom design themes chosen by each customer. This ensures that each car is a one-off while simulaneously proving — yet again — that taste and income are mutually exclusive.
On the positive side, the Lambo’s been fitted with a completely new exhaust system along with more aggressive camshafts, upgraded cylinder heads, and a high-flow air filter that bumps output above the 700-hp mark. A new single disc clutch helps transmit the power to all four wheels, although edo also offers a conversion to rear wheel drive that shaves off nearly 90 pounds. Pricing gets a cue from the designer clothing industry, coming in at just over $690,000, nearly double the MSRP of a standard LP640. Full details on the Audigier Edition Murcielago in the press release following the jump.

Continuing the ho, ho holiday tradition of discounting a piece of Xbox Live Marketplace content every seven days, Major Nelson just informed us that Halo: Combat Evolved is this week’s Holiday Deal of the Week!
Starting tomorrow, the Halo: Combat Evolved Xbox Originals title will be 50% off and only cost you 600 Microsoft points. Usually we’d put up a fuss about Xbox Originals, their lack of achievements and overpriced nature, but 600 points for a gaming classic? We just don’t have the heart to fuss about that. Enjoy teh dizcounted Haloz.

PlayStation 3 and PSP play nice together, so we’ve always been a bit baffled as to why Microsoft hasn’t created similar synergy between the Xbox 360 and its iPod-chaser, Zune. Now it looks like MS is taking steps to formally introduce the devices to one another – at least that’s what one of its job postings suggests.
According to CNET, Microsoft is looking to add a user experience designer to its Zune group, with a focus on the Zune user interface, Zune PC application – used to access the Zune Marketplace – and … the Zune Xbox application? It could be that the company is working on a means to (finally) download, manage and transfer Zune Marketplace content on 360 to Zune (and vice-versa). MS has said that the New Xbox Experience will make it easier to roll out extension services (see Netflix and Photo Sharing) without the need for major system updates.

Did we just blow your mind with this all-black T-Mobile Dash? Besides sporting a new look, this furtively shot handset seems to confirm details we received from a tipster over the weekend. According to the source, the new phones have been seen in a few T-Mob stores across the country, and they’re sporting Windows 6.1 and a camera upgrade of some sort. We’re light on details, like whether or not this bad boy is 3G, but then again there’s no telling whether or not any of this is even for reals. But that is a picture, isn’t it? We’ll just have to wait and see.
[Thanks, Scott K]
